People + Design is a 20 credit module taken by Master of Design students at DJCAD, University of Dundee, which encourages students to explore the complex relationships between people, design and technology. It addresses this primarily through a hands-on design project – giving all participants an opportunity to explore what it means to design within rather than simply for the societies in which we live.
This blog provides all necessary information for students, including links to further reading, videos, podcasts and other course materials. Select from the tabs at the top of this page to explore the content and timetable, assessment requirements, and further links and reading.
The module is delivered by a team of specialist staff with considerable experience in design practice and design research. Fraser Bruce leads the module. Other contributors include Professor Mike Press, Hazel White and Professor Tom Inns. There will also be an opportunity to learn from two leading industry experts, Colin Burns, multi-disciplinary designer and innovation consultant; and David Townson, product and service development strategist.
We look forward to working with you this semester.
